Turo is the world's largest car sharing marketplace, allowing private car owners to rent out their vehicles via an online and mobile interface.
Founded in 2009 as RelayRides, Turo rebranded in 2015 and has since expanded to operate in several countries.
To onboard as a car provider on Turo, you'll need to follow these steps:
Create a Turo account by signing up on their website or mobile app.
List your vehicle by providing:
Vehicle details (make, model, year, mileage)
High-quality photos of your car
Availability calendar
Pricing (you can use Turo's automated pricing or set your own)
Pickup/delivery options and locations
Verify your identity by submitting:
Valid driver's license
Proof of vehicle ownership
Profile photo
Set up your payment information to receive earnings
Get your vehicle approved by Turo (they'll verify all documentation)
Set up vehicle protection by either:
Selecting one of Turo's protection plans
Providing proof of commercial rental insurance
Prepare your vehicle for guests by ensuring it's clean, well-maintained, and has a full tank of gas
Once approved, your listing will go live and you can start accepting booking requests from potential renters.
General Requirements
To be a car provider on Turo, you need to meet these basic requirements:
Be at least 21 years old (18 in some locations)
Have a valid driver's license
Own or lease the vehicle you're listing
Have a vehicle that's generally less than 12 years old
Have a vehicle with fewer than 130,000 miles
Meet Turo's vehicle condition standards (clean, well-maintained)
Have proper vehicle registration and insurance
Pass Turo's verification and approval process
Have a bank account for payment processing
Your vehicle must also not be subject to any open safety recalls, and certain luxury or specialty vehicles may have additional requirements.
