Pear Deck

Pear Deck is an educational technology company that provides an all-in-one platform for teachers to create interactive, standards-aligned lessons, deliver differentiated instruction, and assess student progress in real time. It supports every instructional step in any topic and offers tools for lesson planning, practice sets, and assessments.

Pear Deck was founded in 2014 in Iowa City, Iowa. It raised $500,000 in seed funding in December 2014 and received several awards including 'New Startup of the Year' at the Silicon Prairie Awards and 'Top Ten School Tool' by EdSurge. In 2016, it expanded its sales team to Kansas City. In November 2020, Pear Deck was acquired by GoGuardian. In January 2024, Pear Deck integrated Edulastic, Giant Steps, and TutorMe into its franchise under GoGuardian, rebranding them as Pear Assessment, Pear Practice, and Pear Deck Tutor respectively.
